Working long hours at a desk (even one with a chair that cost thousands and with state-of-the-art desk assessment facilities) creates inevitable consequences for the body. Even if your team members are fit and otherwise healthy.

The way to combat endemic problems like back pain, sciatica and poor posture is through strength training. Focusing on restoring the body to it’s natural form and way of moving, which feels great for your team and cuts your budget risk on sick days.

By strength training, I do not mean lifting big heavy weights and spending all one’s time in the gym. I mean a very efficient, effective and tested method of reversing the patterns that long seated hours inevitably create in the body.

The way I approach this is through a two-part system:

  1. Explaining the why behind the body changes to coachees, to give them the empowerment of the knowledge,

  2. Taking them through practical ways to reverse the patterns, using simply bodyweight and no more space than a yoga mat.

This can be delivered by way of 45 minute intro seminar, or it can be expanded out into a full day’s worth of coaching for a select group.
